Who we are
Our Story (So Far)
We started Maveral because we wanted our own space to make great gear and build a community outside the usual outdoor industry constraints. We wanted to offer something different, try new things, and push on what's possible.
To us, the outdoors isn't a single sport or a product category. It's a cold run before work, a break halfway up a climb, the top of a ski tour, a morning chasing hungry trout, and the coffee afterward. The best of those days are usually shared with friends and family, and the gear that comes along becomes part of the story. Maveral is for people who think in years rather than seasons. They do a little of everything, fix what they own, and pass on both their gear and their know-how to whoever walks by their side. That's the community we want to build: one based on real places, real experiences, and the skills it takes to enjoy them.
So we set ourselves a rule. We launch a product when we've built something innovative, with a point of view of its own. If we haven't figured that out yet, we wait. We're following a creativity cycle, not a fashion cycle.
Gear that gets better with age
Maveral is built around a simple idea: the best gear should get better with age. More character. More soul. Worth repairing, worth handing down, worth holding onto. A good jacket ends up as a record of where you've been, with memories to go along with the scars. The ultimate sustainability achievement is an item you love and use for many years. We call this ethos Generational Design.
That means designing for longevity with every feature, material, and design choice. Our gear is Built to Be Rebuilt: each item is engineered with the longest lasting, highest performance sustainable materials that we can find. Each piece is designed to be easily repaired without special machinery or equipment. Components that innately won't last as long are replaceable in minutes.
Giving back to artists and tradespeople
We believe the people who build and make the physical world we live in deserve support. So 1% of every sale goes to apprenticeships, vocational training, and the craftspeople keeping artisan skills alive.
We want to help the next generation of builders, makers, and artists develop real skills and rewarding careers. We also want to stand up for physical spaces, real experiences, and the hard-won knowledge it takes to make the things we use. Long live analog.
Small on purpose
We're bootstrapped, and we like it that way. It lets us ignore the usual playbook and make decisions for the long run. It's also why we believe in independent outdoor retailers, the shops and staff who have always done the most to move this industry forward.
We're not trying to be the biggest outdoor brand. We're trying to be the one you never want to replace.
One product, one person at a time. Thank you for being a part of our story.
